Zsófia Anna Ghira's Alumni Story: Battling the Heat among the Vulnerable

Zsófia was looking for the right business accelerator for her Cooling Corners and Corridors concept. It was a challenge to find the right fit for a project developing islands of greenery to shelter vulnerable city residents from the impact of urban heat waves.

When New European Bauhaus kicked into gear, Zsófia was delighted to find it was exactly what she was looking for. And the EIT was there every step of the way.

Liana Shvachiy's Alumni Story: Found Family and Hidden Potential

Liana was just ten when she had to move from Ukraine to the complete opposite end of the European continent, in Portugal. As she “snowballed” her way through an EIT education that started in warm Évora and slalomed through the Alpine countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Liana came to realise she didn’t want graduation to be the end of her time with the EIT Community.

EIT Alumni 2022 Impact Report

In 2022, The EIT Alumni Board continued to build a more sustainable operational capacity, including standardising processes. The EIT Alumni continued to strengthen the knowledge sharing process between KICs alumni communities including opportunities and encouraging more cross-KIC alumni collaboration by implementing improved information workflows. Another notable example of EIT Alumni achievements in 2022 was the activation of the newest EIT KICs and the involvement of their KIC alumni associations/communities at EIT Alumni level.

The 2021 Impact Report illustrates the commitment and hard work of our future leaders, entrepreneurs and agents of change. Results and achievements embedded in this report are truly demonstrating the purpose of the EIT Alumni Community, for which the EIT Governing Board, in cooperation with the EIT Director, remain fully committed with continued support and guidance.

EIT Alumni Impact Report 2020

The EIT Alumni Community celebrated its fifth year of existence in 2020. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, this year saw the community broaden its outreach, impact and swiftly respond to societal challenges.

The EIT Alumni Board composition also changed, welcoming new representatives from EIT RawMaterials Alumni, EIT Climate-KIC Alumni, CommUnity by EIT InnoEnergy and EIT.

An external observer, Peter Olesen, previously Chair of the EIT Governing Board, continued to provide his advisory support to the functioning of the EIT Alumni Board.

2018, which marks the third year of an EIT Alumni Community guided by an EIT Alumni Board, has been a period of growth and stability for our Community, as our President, Falko Döring, reaches the end of his 2nd year on the Board.
