EIT Alumni Impact Report 2023
2023 marked the beginning of an ambitious new phase for the EIT Alumni Community, with the rollout of European Nodes to connect members with local innovation ecosystems and lay the groundwork for global expansion. The first EIT Alumni White Paper, “Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Public Good and Social Impact,” was launched, focusing on equitable digital health systems. Cross-community events, career development opportunities, and representation at high-level forums strengthened the network’s influence and engagement.

2022 was a year of consolidation and growth for the EIT Alumni Community, as the Board focused on building sustainable operational capacity and standardising processes. Knowledge-sharing across KIC alumni networks improved through stronger workflows, enabling new collaborations and joint opportunities. This year also saw the integration of the newest KICs, with the EIT Urban Mobility Alumni Association officially joining in October. By sharing best practices and aligning governance structures, the community enhanced cohesion and efficiency.

2021 showcased the determination and vision of the EIT Alumni Community in its sixth year, as members continued to build connections, drive innovation, and strengthen the EIT network. Guided by the support of the EIT Governing Board and Director, the community fostered an environment where students, researchers, and entrepreneurs could translate ideas into impactful solutions. With entrepreneurial skills addressing critical gaps between research and innovation, members advanced sustainable initiatives and built a strong foundation for the future.

2020 marked the fifth anniversary of the EIT Alumni Community, a year defined by resilience and adaptability in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The EIT Alumni Board welcomed new representatives from across the KICs and strengthened external advisory support. Highlights included the first EIT Alumni Challenge, a collaboration with the European Food Safety Authority on AI solutions to detect fake news, and the launch of the Women@EIT Female Leadership series.

2018 marked the third year of an EIT Alumni Community guided by the EIT Alumni Board, and a period of growth and stability under the leadership of President Falko Döring. The introduction of dedicated Cross-Community Managers strengthened bridges between networks and enhanced collaboration across KIC alumni communities. This year’s milestones included piloting a partner-based edition of the EIT Alumni Start-up Days, welcoming EIT RawMaterials Alumni into the network, surpassing 5,000 members, and hosting our first independently organised EIT Alumni CONNECT.
